Boarding Services Executive

**UWCSEA Dover** is looking for a Boarding Services Executive to join the Boarding team.
The Boarding Services Executive works both independently and as a team member in two distinct roles. This involves managing routine portfolios and projects, liaising with other departments, external suppliers & parents to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the boarding house & the residential community. In addition, Boarding Service Executives contribute to the pastoral care of the boarders, working closely with house parents to ensure the wellbeing of boarders. The proportion of pastoral to administrative workload can change throughout the ye ar. This position requires a high level of organisational, time-management and administrative skills.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Manage the efficient day to day operations of the boarding house
- Handle boarders’ daily administrative needs, for example: stu dent pass procedures, pocket money accounts, medical requirements, daily routine, visa requirements and travel arrangements.
- Act as custodian of boarders’ important documents and money
- Manage flight bookings and other travel arrangements
- Accompany stu dents to doctor and specialist visits
- Communicating with stu dents’ par ents regarding their needs and administrative issues
- Facilities maintenance and inventory work management during the summer holidays
- Attend to Ad hoc tasks during school term and vacation in preparation for boarders return
- Implement the Boarding Philosophy and tenets of the Boarding Manifesto
- Support, care and ensure the well-being of stu dents a ge ranging from 1 3 to 2 0.
- Ensure effective/professional interaction with people from a wide range of backgrounds
- Assist with any other duties, tasks or jobs with similar levels of responsibility and complexity to the assigned job grade as may be reasonably requested by the line manager and/or the College.
**Person Specifications**
**Qualifications**
- A university degree, diploma or equivalent work experience of at least 2 ye ars is required
- First Aid Certificate would be an advantage, but can be obtained once employed.
**Desired experience**
- Demonstrated success in supervising stu dents in a residential or educational environment.
- Demonstrated success in meeting deadlines and following procedures
- Demonstrated success working with teams to successfully execute projects
**Skills and Qualities**
- Demonstrated ability to provide consistent and considerate supervision of adolescents and young adults.
- Demonstrated skills in establishing effective working relationships based on mutual respect between staff and stu dents.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a team and as an individual.
- Proficient IT skills, especially using Google workspace
- Able to multi-task and demonstrate initiative
- An understanding of the organisational and operational practices appropriate to the position.
- An understanding of the growth and development of adolescents and young adults.
- An understanding of the legal and safeguarding requirements for the supervision of stu dents.
- Customer oriented, flexible and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
