**Key Responsibilities**:

- Robotics Framework: Utilize the Robot Operating System (ROS) and other relevant robotics frameworks to facilitate seamless integration and communication between software components and robotic hardware.
- Sensor Integration for Environmental Applications: Work closely with hardware and sensor teams to integrate environmental sensors and data acquisition devices into the robotic platform. Ensure accurate data collection and analysis for environmental monitoring and assessment.
- Path Planning and Navigation: Develop efficient algorithms for robotic path planning and navigation, enabling robots to execute tasks effectively in various environmental settings.
- Simulation and Testing: Conduct simulation tests to validate software functionalities and optimize the performance of robotic systems in environmental scenarios.
- Real-World Deployment: Collaborate with the hardware team to deploy and test robotic systems in real-world environmental settings. Evaluate the performance of software solutions and contribute to iterative improvements.
- Collaboration and Innovation: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and environmental experts to align software development efforts with environmental objectives and industry standards.

**Requirements**:

- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Robotics Framework: Familiarity with ROS and other relevant robotics frameworks for environmental robotics.
- Environmental Sensor Integration: Knowledge of integrating environmental sensors and data acquisition devices into robotic systems for environmental monitoring.
- Machine Learning: Experience with machine learning concepts and frameworks, with a focus on enhancing robotic adaptability.
- Simulation Tools: Familiarity with robotic simulation tools for testing and validation in various environmental scenarios.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop efficient and effective software solutions for environmental robotics.
- Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team-driven environment.

You'll have an added advantage if you have:

- Robot Operating System (ROS)
- Python
- C++
- Robot Perception Libraries
- Simulation Tools (e.g., Gazebo, V-REP)
- Path Planning and Navigation Algorithms (e.g., A*, RRT)
- Robotics Middleware (e.g., Robot Middleware, Player/Stage)
