**Job Description**:
Rockwell Automation is hiring

We are looking for an** Assistant General Counsel - SEA & South Pacific** to be based in our Singapore office.

This role is responsible to provide legal support to multiple business, regional and/or functional leaders. He / She will be a trusted advisor to the business who understands the Company’s strategic initiatives and provides legal support that assures compliance, facilitates growth, and mitigates risk. The role typically works across multiple businesses, regions and/or functions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide proactive counsel and advice to all levels of the business in one or more areas such as corporate organization, mergers and acquisitions, employment and immigration law, license agreements, complex commercial agreements, litigation management, risk management, internal investigations and distribution matters.
- Collaborate with business/region/function management to discern risk tolerance and identify and lead risk management and compliance activities related to one or more areas such as competition law and antitrust, complex commercial contracts, labor and employment, anti-corruption, environmental health and safety and corporate governance.
- Support Business/Region/Function and Corporate Development on major transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and alliance relationships.
- Train internal clients on relevant legal issues; communicate business/region/function activities with legal implications to peers within Office of General Counsel.
- Work with or lead interdisciplinary project and transaction teams, including other peers and functions within the Office of General Counsel.
- Select, retain, and manage outside counsel.
- Drive continuous improvement activities impacting the effectiveness and efficiency of the Office of General Counsel.
- Establish strategic plans and objectives for practice area.
- Strategic partner to primary business/regional/functional leader.

About You:

- Law degree from an accredited Law School or equivalent having permission to work in Singapore.
- 8+ years’ experience of law firm or in-house experience; corporate in-house experience a plus.
- Prior experience/exposure of handling China and knowledge of Mandarin will be appreciated.
- Orientation toward business results; sufficient maturity, experience, and business acumen to become a trusted advisor to the business segment/region/functional management team.
- Preferably from Software, Automation, IT, ITES, Technology industry.
- Sound legal and business judgment; ability to assess risk and balance legal and business considerations.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communications skills, persuasive, responsive, accessible.
- Experience managing and improving processes and driving continuous improvement.
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills
- Quantitative skills necessary to manage outside counsel services and track metrics on matters and costs.
- Around 5-15% travel within the region
