General Description

The role of Ocean Pricing Head is to work closely with Tender Management, APAC countries, Product Management Ocean, Global and Regional Pricing counterparts, and Key Account Management on the pricing aspect of the RFQ.

Specific Accountabilities
- Preparing a summary of the Tender status and performance on a weekly and monthly basis to Regional Product Teams
- Joins Global/Regional Pricing discussions for tender evaluation
- Knowledge and understanding the market behavior thru consistent alignment with Product Teams (FCL/LCL/RFR)
- Held regular meetings with internal Pricing members on weekly or bi-weekly basis as needed
- Review the RFQ pipeline regularly and evaluates the workload performance
- Translate and cascade global/Regional pricing instructions into RFQ pricing instructions for the involved pricing teams in country or region
- Manage and review for completeness and correctness of pricing submissions in accordance with customer service requirements
- Drives pricing discussion between internal stakeholders to ensure pricing competitiveness prior to any submission of tender to customer
- Ensure timely, competitive and complete submission of RFQ rate cards and other requirements to Tender Management or APAC/Global Pricing Lead
- Handle pricing inquiries from the entire network
- Comprehensive translation from internal pricing file to external customer file
- Monitor and follow up on bid status and results
- Support agreed pricing process, data quality and compliance
- Work with and keep updated with pricing relevant software e.g. GTP, SPACE
- Support for new pricing process, standards and quality

Skills Required
- Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel (Pivot table, V/H-Lookup etc)
- Experience in managing an RFQ
- Excellent leadership skills
- Knowledge of forwarding business
- Good project management skills to stay on top of multiple deadlines for multiple bids in parallel
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to properly engage with country pricing teams of different cultural backgrounds
- Strong analytical mind ideally paired with operational experience to be able to quickly understand and challenge country bid input
- Ability to work under pressure to cope with periods of high workload and tight timelines
- Fluency in English

Experience & Qualifications
- Completed University degree / Polytechnic / Industry apprenticeship
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Ocean Pricing, RFP/RFQ management from similar industry
