**Description:
GTS has modernized Singapore’s oldest and longest railway lines by commissioning a state of the art communication based train control (CBTC) system for the North-South and East-West lines. The work has a direct impact on commuter experience with improvements such as shorter intervals between trains, less service disruptions, and faster travel times.

You will be working as a Signaling Design Engineer within the System Design team. The work performed is often focused on the station, trackside electrical and mechanical design artefacts such as wiring diagrams, cable layouts, CAD drawings, physical trackside hardware, and signaling routing tables. The team also designs interfaces to various equipment and third parties such as platform screen doors, legacy signaling system, emergency stop plungers, signal lights, switches and others.

You will work closely with the Installation, Testing and Commissioning team, Procurement team and others in support of the overall objectives.

**Tasks & Responsibilities**

Ø Responsible for designing complex and signaling functional systems (including design, review, installation, testing and design configuration).

Ø Interface control, scheme plans, control tables, book of wiring, I/O bitmaps, block design and analysis using Microstation (CAD Tool).

Ø Participating in/lead design reviews to detect the design errors, analyzing verification and validation feedback and site tests, leading design efforts for complex signaling solutions for unique signaling and wider challenges including presenting and defending the technical solutions to the customer, and performing expert review of the requirements.

Ø Producing design documentation including hardware system requirements.

Ø Ensuring the hardware design and functional documents produced are issued and controlled in accordance with company processes.

Ø Correlation at site (trackside, stations or trains).

Ø Problem solving capabilities during the wayside component/design failure.

Ø Capabilities to propose hardware components and bill of material.

**Requirements**:
Ø Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Signaling, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)

Ø Experience with the following is desirable:

- Electrical circuit design experience
- Institute of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) certification
- Knowledge of railway signaling industry standards
