**Assistant/Technical Manager (Mechanical & Dimensional Calibration)**

**Location**:30 Boon Lay Way
**Working Hours**:Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM
**Salary**:Commensurate with experience and qualifications + AWS + Variable Bonus

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Business Manager in managing daily operations of the SMD team.
- Train and mentor new Calibration Officers.
- Perform and manage in-house and on-site calibrations.
- Provide technical guidance to the team, especially in calibration, lab development, and scope expansion.
- Act as an approved signatory under SAC-SINGLAS for Mechanical and Dimensional calibration.
- Plan and arrange timely recalibration of standard equipment with ISO/IEC 17025 accredited labs, ensuring better CMCs.
- Review master instrument certificates, update master equipment lists and drift records regularly.
- Review and approve calibration certificates.
- Improve turnaround time (TAT) through effective team coordination and work planning.
- Identify and address training needs within the team.
- Increase productivity and efficiency by implementing improved methods and systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, in-service checks, ILCs, and PTs per schedule.
- Develop and enhance calibration procedures and maintain up-to-date documentation in line with ISO 17025 requirements.
- Support internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems.
- Assist in equipment failure troubleshooting and offer technical support to clients and internal teams.
- Participate in business development activities and identify opportunities for growth.
- Contribute to annual CAPEX budgeting and justifications for equipment upgrades or replacements.
- Maintain high standards of workplace safety and 5S housekeeping.
- Engage with clients professionally, provide expert advice, and support client audits.
- Maintain and manage calibration certificate formats/templates.
- Ensure excellent customer service by promptly addressing technical queries and feedback.
- Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Take on any other responsibilities as assigned by the Management.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in equipment measurement and calibration.
- **Must be an approved SAC-SINGLAS signatory**in Mechanical and/or Dimensional fields.
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in calibration and lab operations.
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 systems and standards.
- Proficient in managing and motivating teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
- Strong customer focus and high ethical standards.Capable of identifying and developing new business opportunities in line with company strategy.
