We are looking for someone who has strong knowledge and experience in Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI) systems, accounting software including Property Management System, Point of Sale system and Microsoft Office.
**Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to)**:
- Prepares month-end and year-end closing and financial reporting.
- Ensure month-end journals are posted in accordance with the hotel’s policies and procedures.
- Compiles financial reports for various management reporting.
- Checks daily bank statements for abnormal activities.
- Prepares all financial statements in established corporate formats (USALI) and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Be knowledgeable and play an active role in maintaining strict adherence to USALI compliances.
- Prepares quarterly GST submission.
- Prepares external surveys by the Department of Statistics, SHA, Horwath HTL and other governing bodies.
- Ensures that all hotel systems and internal controls related to the general ledger section are adhered to.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Assist in planning and coordinating the financial audit process.
- Supervises and assists with account reconciliation, account analysis, and closing procedures at month end.
- Co-ordinates, observes and prepares all operating equipment and supply inventories in accordance with corporate policies as directed by the Financial Controller
- Ensures the accuracy and timeliness for all operational reporting.
- Prepares and oversees the preparation of all reports on a timely basis.
- Maintains proper records for all contracts and ensures that all contracts are promptly renewed before expiry date and update critical date-list.
- Ensures all documents are filed accordingly and softcopy easily retrievable such as contracts, trademarks and annual audit file.
- Ensures critical date-list is updated for tracking at all times.
- Perform monthly analysis, including month-to-month variance analysis and budget variance analysis.
- Analyse data and understand the financial performance and position of the organization to develop suitable accounting policies.
- Produce any special and/or ad-hoc reports required by the management team.
- Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines.
- Assist in new processes and system implementation when required.
- Assist in any other duties related to the Finance team.
**Requirements**:
- ACCA, CPA, Bachelor in Accounting or equivalent in hospitality or related field.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in similar capacity.
- Understand all statutory requirements and ensure compliance.
- Ability to maximize capital/productivity grants.
- Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Driven and highly responsible.
