Providing leadership and directions to shape up strategic R&D programmes and projects with the maritime and ocean economy sectors, including the industry, public agencies/institutions, Institutes of Higher Learning and A*STAR research institutes.
- Identifying new technology trends and conceptualising innovative solutions for real world challenges, including areas requiring further capability building.
- Serving as the lead PI for major projects, and spearheading initiatives that encompass larger and often multidisciplinary teams involving external collaborators.
- Evolving the organisation and operation of TCOMS to adapt to changes and be effective in the build-up towards a world class and impactful organisation known for its strength in key areas.
- Carrying out other special duties as assigned by CEO as and when needed.
Key Deliverables
- Impactful and effective contributions in the areas spelt out above.
- Strong leadership skills in securing new grants and industry projects.
- Leadership abilities in taking TCOMS to new heights, especially in the assigned special tasks.
- Contributions in specific administrative tasks at the management level pertaining to TCOMS operations.
- Contribute to the reporting process to TCOMS Board of Directors, grantors, and other key stakeholders.
Job Requirements
**Qualification & Field of Study**:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture
or equivalent, with a minimum of 15 years of research and/or industry experience in the Maritime
or Marine & Offshore sectors.
