**A Day in the Life**

**Sr Principal / Principal Strategic Sourcing Specialist**
- Contribute to the overall result of Medtronic through Total Value Creation, Improving Working Capital and Cost Savings/Avoidance
- Support the internal stakeholders in managing the Indirect Spend related to assigned Indirect Categories with third party Suppliers across APAC.
- Become/be a center of excellence with respect to regional engagement towards third party indirect spend vendors (Industry & Supplier Analysis/Intelligence) and internal Functional Stakeholders (Internal Customer Analysis)
- Establish a productive and professional relationship with key functional stakeholders for the different Categories and cross Functions
- Enable ISM Regional Management in developing Region Specific Category Sourcing Strategies and Plans, by engaging and providing strategic direction and support regional strategy deployment.
- Assure proper Governance in relation to Category Management, Tactical Sourcing (Hub)
- Management and Procurement Ops and Stakeholders, in terms of:

- Projects and program portfolio management.
- Rally cross functional stakeholders for assigned spend categories to design value levers applicable for driving cost and efficiency value.
- Refer and connect with Global Category leaders to deploy value levers applicable to APAC region with alignment to subregion.
- Relay and influence global strategies representing APAC regional requirements.

**Responsibilities**:

- Functionally work with cross functional members across the APAC, including:

- Selection of a diverse team of high performing Sourcing Professionals and cross functional members.
- Set clear Category targets, consistent with Global ISM objectives and ensure on time realization.
- Make the Matrix organization work by pro-active engagement with - and supporting country ISM Management in the process of developing Implementation & Communication Plans for Global & Regional Sourcing Strategies and for approved Global and Regional Suppliers
- Key focal areas within the responsibility area are:

- Identify and deliver APAC-regional cost-savings, working capital improvements and cost-avoidances
- Ensure value tracking of savings initiatives for initiatives impacting APAC
- Supplier Stratification Drive compliance to applicable (ISM) Policies
- Improve and retain Internal Customer Experience / Satisfaction
- Develop, manage and deploy annual Category Sourcing Plans based on local AOP targets and functional goals
- Proactively leads an alignment of the (regional) Functional groups strategic needs vs ISM ones developing mutual performance objectives, targets and critical milestones
- Proactive assess, clarifies and validates Functional / needs on an ongoing basis
- Leads solution development efforts that best address Business and Customer needs while coordinating the involvement of all necessary Sourcing resources

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree required
- Requires a University Degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

**Nice to Have**
- Bachelor’s degree and an additional accreditation in procurement such as CIPS / CPM or relevant equivalent working experience;
- Robust working business and Supply Management functional knowledge of Indirect / NPR Categories in terms of products, services and contracts and supply management.
- Knowledge of Indirect/NPR Sourcing in terms of business dynamics, markets, innovation requirements and growth opportunities is a plus. Focus on Logistics/Warehousing, Facilities, Marketing categories be plus.
- Proven proficiency in: Project Management, core knowledge of the systems and tools used throughout Operations and Supply Management (e.g. Ariba, SAP, BU specific tools/systems etc.
- Awareness of technical aspects of procurement (such as use of data, Spec/Requirement Development, Cost Comparison and Should Cost Analysis, Root Cause/Corrective Action, )
- Track record in achieving cost savings and contract implementation and management
- Knowledge of the PtP-process
