What you’ll do

We are looking for a Principal SQL Server Specialist who designs, develops, implements, and maintains enterprise level database systems in a multi-cloud environment. In this role, you will troubleshoot and remediate database issues and proactively maintain the health of database systems, create backup/recover utilities according to defined standards and code, and implement stored procedures and triggers. As our Principal SQL Server Specialist, you will support database migration projects from on-prem enterprise to AWS and Azure cloud-based database technologies and interface with the appropriate groups to ensure that database systems meet business requirements. Specifically, you will:

- Design, develop, implement, and maintain moderately complex databases systems primarily MS SQL server
- Review database usage and provides analysis to management for system improvements and enhancements
- Tune and optimize database performance
- Implement security according to defined standards
- Maintain responsibility for HA and backup / restoration strategies for the database environment

What’s required
- 6 to 7 years experience as DBA and database developer
- Ability to evaluate customer requirements and needs to develop recommendations on information technology strategies, policies, and procedures
- A strong team-player with an ability to cross-train those within the engineering and support organizations
- Proven data replication proficiency for multi-site redundancy and disaster recovery scenarios [AlwayON replication technology]
- Ability and availability to perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs
