- Manager (Sports Wellness)

**What you will be working on**
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to a team of 4-5 staff to achieve the mission and vision of SDAA.
- Develop strategies and incentives to attract sporting talents to TP from MOE schools and ITE. Lead the recruitment of sports talents, through the pathways provided by the Joint Admission Exercise (JAE), Joint Poly Admission Exercise (JPAE), Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) and Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE), to sustain the sporting excellence tradition of TP sports teams.
- Organise/Lead overseas sports training camps to enhance Sports Excellence.
- Represent the Polytechnic as a member, or as chairperson on a rotation basis, of the POL-ITE and IVP Sports Council to coordinate the convenorship of all games as decided by the Council.
- Promote tertiary sports (POL-ITE, IVP) and create media value as a viable attraction for sponsorship/advertisement.
- Act as key liaison with Government Agencies (e.g. Singapore Sports Institute, National Sport Association) and TP Academic Schools to offer academic flexible curriculum and support for elite national athletes under the spexEducation partner agreement.
- Establish/maintain partnerships with relevant Government Agencies (e.g. ActiveSG, HPB) to promote a range of recreational sporting activities, projects and programmes for the TP community such as TP cross-country run.
- Drive IPPT participation and passing rates for the final-year NS-liable students. Support/contribute to MINDEF’s ACCORD initiatives related to IPPT, physical fitness and NS among students and educators.
- Lead/Co-lead dept-wide/poly-wide/school-wide events or activities e.g. Temasek Freshmen Orientation, Temasek Student Excellence Award.
- Manage CCA groups and act as liaison between students, coaches, schools and other key partners and stakeholders e.g. POL-ITE, IVP, MOE schools.
- Supervise and develop students through mentoring student leaders and guiding students on organizing projects and competitions.
- Assist implementation of PE lessons and sports science programmes/ initiatives.
- Adopt best practices and knowledge of business processes to improve programmes, services, facilities and equipment e.g. procurement of coaches, instructors and/or vendors services, gym equipment and management
- Participate actively in professional developmental activities and collaboration projects
- Able to work beyond office hours when required.
- Perform any other duties required by the Department.

- JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Tertiary education with at least 7 years of relevant working experience.
- Keen interest in student development work and is student-centric with a nurturing disposition.
- A team player with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to work in cross-functional teams and with internal & external stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication (written and spoken) skills.
- Driven and works independently with guidance in more complex situations
- Creative, analytical and resourceful.
- Strong administrative skills.
- Strong event management skills.
- IT-savvy and proficient in MS Office, Adobe Photoshop and basic video editing
- Physically fit and able to work beyond office hours.
