Our business development, marketing and communication teams contribute to the setting and achievement of the firm’s business objectives, which includes supporting our partners and associates in their pursuit of becoming our clients’ trusted advisers, building and maintaining long-lasting, deep institutional client relationships, winning new clients, increasing the visibility of the firm globally, and positioning the firm as the thought leader and most advanced law firm among the global elite law firms. The function works as one team across APAC and the globe.**Role purpose**

Due to a number of temporary team vacancies, we have an immediate opening for a BD & Marketing Consultant. As an integral member of the APAC Business Development (BD) team, this role will support the HK Litigation, Singapore and Hong Kong Arbitration and Financial Services Regulatory practices and the APAC Restructuring & Recovery group. The role will involve the full spectrum of marketing and BD activities for the groups and is supported by a BD Executive based in Hong Kong. This role can be based in Hong Kong or Singapore.**Key relationships**
- Head of BD, Marketing & Communications, APAC
- BD Executive, Disputes (APAC)
- All Litigation, Arbitration, Financial Services Regulatory and RRG Partners and fee-earners
- Litigation and investigations fee-earners in international offices
- Wider global litigation business development team
- Other practice business development teams, particularly the sector, AD&S and Corporate practice BD teams.
- Central marketing teams, including Client Relationship Management, media relations, digital marketing, social media and Marketing Systems.
- Other support teams, such as Finance, Creative Services, Online Services, Know-how and PAs etc.

**Role and responsibilities**

This role involves acting as a reliable point of contact as it relates to the BD function of the HK Litigation, Singapore and Hong Kong Arbitration and Financial Services Regulatory practices and the APAC Restructuring & Recovery group. The BDM function is crucial to the day-to-day success of the business and this individual will play an essential part in this model.
- Pitches, Proposals and Credentials: Working directly with the lawyers and the pitch team to create competitive proposals, credentials, pitches and presentations
- Cross-practice & cross-office integration: Using an understanding of the firm’s international partner and business development network (and the varied range of working practices/styles across the firm) coordination of existing projects and development of new opportunities
- Market Research: Conducting market research on existing and prospective clients and market issues which may impact clients’ businesses and providing advice on effective marketing strategies to address these issues.
- Marketing discussion & review: Arranging and chairing meetings with the practice groups to review progress on marketing projects and key client targeting; ensuring relevant information from these meetings is circulated to other relevant internal groups.
- Profile/PR: Working with our PR team to spot opportunities and maintain effective press coverage on major market developments; drafting entries for legal and industry directories. Determination of high profile matters and issues of the practices in order to ensure press and internal coverage where appropriate.
- Sponsorships and Client Events: Identifying and coordinating firm sponsorships of conferences
- Expertise database: Maintaining records (in our global database) of proposals and matters
- Team management: Mentor and collaborate with one junior team member, ensuring appropriate work opportunities and allocation, and support of team members’ long term goals and training
