**Key responsibilities**
This role will play a key technical role in supporting the growth of the business in different countries of ASEAN&ANZ. The role is to be part of Dow’s cutting edge technology development and resolve current and future scientific difficulties in material science.
**Provide technical solutions**:
- Propose solutions to resolve internal and external technical issues related to the business.
- Identify gaps of existing products and technology, help develop new products by working closely with R&D experts.
**Interface with Customers**
- Cultivate and maintain customer intimacy by interacting with customers on a regular basis. Work closely with commercial counterparts to develop and build relationships with customers.
- Responsibilities include: visit customers, provide technical consultation and troubleshooting advice, coordinate test samples and results, documentation, technical presentation and lab results analysis.
**Lab work**
- Handling of chemicals to conduct experiments and handling of lab equipments is required for this role.
- At Dow, safety is the topmost priority. Role requires spending time on safety related initiatives for safe operations during lab work
**Qualifications**
- Good English reading, writing and speaking capability is required. Local language capability is a plus.
- Master or PhD degree in Polymer Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and other relevant disciplines.
**Soft skills qualifications**
- Self-motivated, proactive, and confident. Possesses customer-oriented mentality. Can-do attitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Work comfortably in a team setting. Able to motivate and positively influence team members.
- Good writing and presentational skills.
- When required, able to travel up to 30% of work time within ASEAN& ANZ.
