You will be part of the team responsible for ensuring the operations of user services at the Archives Reading Room (ARR), the development of information and content useful for researchers and handling of reference enquiries raised by users of the Archives Reading Room to support the objective of providing access to our national collection kept at National Archives of Singapore (NAS).

[What you will be working on]
- Liaise with ARR team, and other NAS Departments on records and access conditions to service requests and research needs.
- Assist users at the ARR in utilizing the facilities and services to access records; and provide customized consultation services to members of public and researchers on their enquiries
- Conduct additional research to address the requests, utilizing resources beyond NAS’ collections where necessary
- Build a strong rapport and network with researchers to facilitate further exchange of information to maintain NAS’ reputation as a premier source of information for research into Singapore’s history among the academic community
- Provide guidance to colleagues/stakeholders attached to the ARR, in ensuring deliverables are met
- Package and curate information relating to NAS’ collections for public consumption, in the form of articles, information kits, NAS portal, social media, etc.
- Communicate archival policies and procedures to members of public and researchers through crafting of public messages on websites, in handouts or through briefings.
- Conduct public briefings for targeted user groups such as tertiary level students or researchers on the use of NAS’ collections, how to access the collections and other reading room services.
- Perform and mange ARR Operations such as procurement, documentation, housekeeping and inventorisation of archival records, publications, and other items at ARR; ensuring compliance with ISO and PSD standards.
- Collaborate with other divisions in NLB to explore and develop new service ideas for ARR
- Any other duties assigned

[What we are looking for]
- Competency in research (historical topics especially) and present findings
- Good interpersonal skills with experience in customer service and historical research will be an added advantage.
- Must be comfortable working with and managing a diversity of people.
- Good communication skills (both written and spoken) in English.
- Able to multi-task and handle stress well
- Experience with data analytics preferred.
- Preferably with 2 years of working experience. Applicants with no experience may apply.
