Director of Engineering, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

Our guests’ safety and comfort is our number one priority. Are you ready to make it yours? We’re searching for a** Director of Engineering** who will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities within the hotel.

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

- Directing daily engineering needs to ensure the right team is always on the right task
- Developing a maintenance programme that creates a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests to enjoy
- Overseeing physical operations - from maintenance and repair to security and servicing
- Being flexible to react to ad-hoc duties where we have to unexpectedly pull together to get a task completed
- Supervising a number of maintenance and engineering staff as well as contractors
- Oversee all aspects of the hotel's physical plant, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair services, negotiating contracts and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping and front office, to address maintenance requests and resolve any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
- Manage the department budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking costs, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in engineering and facility management, implementing innovations and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability initiatives, implementing energy-saving measures and waste reduction strategies wherever possible.

What We need from you:

- Some college or advanced vocational training
- Four years’ experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields
- Hotel experience preferred
