Be present to provide support, as required, during all lessons in the lab or workshop
- Prepare materials, tools and resources as required by the teachers and students
- Facilitate the preparation and the manufacture of teaching aids
- Liaise with the teachers to ensure the smooth running of learning spaces and resources
- Ensure the safe handling of tools and equipment in the lab spaces.
- Train lab users with essential safety and tool use procedures
- Coordinate with teachers on the maintenance and cleaning of laboratories and workshops
- Organize lab tools and machines to comply with safety standards and operating guidelines.
- Help maintain a current, computerized inventory system for all equipment
- Liaise with teachers on available stocks of materials, conduct inventory checks, and maintain stocks of consumables
- Use basic troubleshooting and problem solving skills to learn procedures for new devices.
- Coordinate with teachers to compile lists of equipment and specifications, for purchasing new equipment or spare parts
- Assist in the setup and upkeep of laboratories / workshops, while maintaining all equipment in good working order.
- Organize or constructing storage systems for students’ work and other materials
- Proactively conduct regular cleaning and servicing of equipment, machines and tools. Troubleshoot and repair equipment and tools, as needed.
- Coordinate external service, repair, or calibration of equipment, machines and tools

Skills/Requirements

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Diploma or certificate from an accredited educational institution in courses such as design technology, engineering, robotics or similar
- Relevant specialized work experience in educational or commercial settings.
- A combination of successfully completed post high school education and specialized work experience.

**Desired Interpersonal Skills**:

- Excellent English communication skills.
- Highly service-oriented with a passion for interacting with students, faculty, staff and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively providing technical assistance to teachers, students, and co-curricular clubs and activities, to facilitate school projects and activities.

**Desired Technical Skills**:

- Computer proficiency in the use of Google suite of collaboration tools e.g. Google Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Surveys.
- Proficiency in the use of software programs for higher tech tools (i.e. laser cutters, 3D printers, CNC machines) or willingness to learn operation of these machines.
