**What the role is**
- Mission
Temperatures in Singapore are set to rise due to climate change. In urban areas, this is compounded by the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect where built-up areas are typically warmer than their surroundings because of reduced green cover, heat absorption by buildings, and heat emissions from transport and industry activities. Efforts to address rising temperatures in Singapore are coordinated and managed by various agencies across the Government. These efforts include the designing, implementation and tracking of effective heat mitigation strategies.
About
You will be part of the team to manage the conduct of UHI intervention trials, support UHI mitigation workstreams such as but not limited to - project management, procurement and engagement of cool paint and sensor deployment services, working and guiding the sensor providers and research consultancies on cool paint trials, literature review, analytical work, developing the Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA), social costs.

**What you will be working on**
- Liaise and work with internal and external stakeholders, including external contractors and Institutes of Higher Learning in the delivery of projects, comprising implementation of heat mitigation strategies (e.g. cool paints, shade and greenery, etc.) and deployment of sensors to assess improvements to outdoor thermal comfort
- Project management, which include calling tenders, managing procurement operations, and data management, and providing regular updates on project progress
- Participate in inter-agency efforts to build capabilities in assessing effectiveness of heat mitigation strategies and tracking outdoor thermal comfort, including acquiring technical skills and knowledge, reporting to inter-agency committees, reviewing policies and processes for improvement and knowledge sharing with agencies
- Analyse policies, regulation and technical specifications relating to urban heat and outdoor thermal comfort (e.g. building design, research and development, temperature sensing) to evaluate and inform the design and implementation of effective heat mitigation strategies
- Provide support to inter-agency committees overseeing Singapore’s urban heat and climate resilience efforts
- Data and analytical research for the HDB Green Towns Programme (GTP) by gathering and using multiple forms of data, utilizing computational and data analytics methodologies to derive evidence-based findings to ascertain the effectiveness of sustainable initiatives and their impact to the urban environment.

**What we are looking for**
- Have keen interest in climate and urban heat policies, and willing to pick up new knowledge that is technical in nature
- Possess background in engineering, sustainability or related areas (e.g. Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science) or at least 2 years relevant experience in sustainability practices or project management in built environment sector
- Possess good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- Proactive and able to work independently and collaboratively with team members and stakeholders including other agencies, external contractors and Institutes of Higher Learning
- Good analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude
