The **Director, Climate Action Platform** is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of AVPN’s climate action strategy. The post holder will work closely across other programme leads at AVPN, including Policy, Capital Mobilisation and Knowledge in order to implement a dynamic and ambitious programme designed to mobilise capital and resources from the social investment community to address climate change in Asia. AVPN has recently undertaken a strategic review of its Climate Action strategy and has developed an ambitious new strategy that focuses on the intersections of climate change and the key issues that have direct impact on communities in the region.

**Responsibilities**:

- Formulating and implementing strategy for the Platform, reflecting and sharpening how AVPN’s value proposition to our members and stakeholders can be delivered through the platform
- Develop and execute an operating plan that will harness AVPN’s assets, programmes, and market outreach that delivers on the Platform’s promise
- Ownership and management of financial plans for the platform, including operating budgets, fundraising targets, and grant management.
- Building AVPN’s internal team competency and knowledge in Platform theme or target community, strengthening AVPN's overall readiness to engage relevant stakeholders and surface funding opportunities.
- Develop products and programmes that advance the mobilisation of capital to Platform, integrating into current AVPN assets and work with teams to surface new ideas.
- With the Partnerships team, engage and develop key partner relationships to strengthen the pipeline for future funders of the Platform.
- With the Products team, manage successful design and delivery of signature programmes for the Platforms to the satisfaction of key funders and achieve programme objectives.
- With the Strategic Communications and Marketing team, ensure successful design and deployment of communications strategy for Platform to improve visibility and credibility of Platform to the regional and global audience.
- Manage a lean and highly efficient team to operate catalytically to deliver outsized results for the Platform

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 10 years in creating and executing engagement programs with philanthropic or impact capital organisations that will advance strategic impact initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience with funder circles, investor/donor-raising, funder education, capital matching, and movement-building activities.
- Extensive knowledge of the climate sector, trends, and impact landscape, as well as the ability to understand and discuss the research and science of climate change
- Extreme comfort and agility in engaging on the “front line” with topics and stakeholders that straddle the full continuum of capital at different seniority levels, ranging from UHNW and private wealth, philanthropy, impact investing, family business, sustainability, and ESG investing.
- Ability to convey a high degree of commitment and passion for the power of networks to mobilise more capital for better development outcomes.
- Works well within team structures and independently, flexible, resourceful, and takes initiative.
- Ability to conceptualize, develop and deliver programmes that mobilise cross-sector resources and internal/external stakeholders.
