This role resides in the Environmental Sustainability Department under Group Centre of Excellence in COO Office. Reporting to the Vice President, Environmental Sustainability, you will assist in the development and execution of group’s environmental sustainability initiatives, analyse and transform climate and nature/biodiversity related data into actionable insights, initiatives and engineering projects to support Sembcorp’s climate action plan.

**Responsibilities**:

- Obtain, analyse and interpret climate reports and models to assess different scenarios based on various factors, and help internal stakeholders understand the potential outcomes and uncertainties associated with climate change
- Devise quantitative approaches and methodologies to assessing risks, vulnerabilities and opportunities. Develop strategies to mitigate its effects and adapt to the changing climate
- Identify trends and patterns in support of scenario analysis, impact modelling, failure mechanisms and adaptation planning
- Collaborate with Markets and cross-functional teams to manage climate resilience projects. Lead on the provision of climate data and analysis to engineering projects
- Monitor the progress and effectiveness of climate risk initiatives. Assess whether the desired outcomes are being achieved and make adjustment as needed
- Keep up-to-date with the latest research, technologies and best practices in the field of climate science, physical risk, resource availability and nature/biodiversity
- Provide technical guidance, support and training to Markets and assisting where practicable, in mentoring and development of others on climate related risks

**Qualifications**:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in climate / environmental science, civil engineering, physical geography, meteorology or other related discipline
- Experience: At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in climate risk assessment, impact modelling and sustainability related works

**Skills**:

- Experience in using cloud-based platforms and analytics tools to draw data for trend / scenario analysis
- Understanding of sustainability principles and frameworks (i.e. GRI, TCFD, TNFD, ISSB, SASB, CDP, etc.)
- Proficiency in analysing large data set, reporting and presentation using Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Access and/or Power BI is desirable

- High proficiency in English and Mandarin

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in relevant field
- Certifications in sustainability (i.e. Sustainability and Climate Risk, ISO 14001/14064/50001, GRI, Environmental Impact Assessment, Life Cycle Analysis)
- Familiar with risk management framework related to climate science, physical hazards, environmental, social, nature and biodiversity
