Essential Health Franchise R&d Lead Apac

The Associate Director has overall leadership for the R&D activities within Asia-Pacific supporting the Essential Health franchises. The role will work directly with the Regional Commercial Leadership team, regional Supply Chain and regional and global R&D teams to:

- Develop and shape a holistic technical strategy based on the current and future business needs
- Help identify relevant strategic innovations and opportunities to shape new product innovation pipelines and processes
- Provide technical leadership to coordinate all technical aspects of innovation and life cycle management projects from initiation, briefing, progress and completion
- Provide support to cross-functional partners at global, regional and local level

KPIs
- On-time and on-quality delivery of innovation initiatives
- On-time and on-quality delivery of life cycle management initiatives
- Aligned and sufficient innovation and life cycle management pipeline with appropriate mix, rhythm and resource utilization
- Achievement of business KPIs (Sales, Profit, Market Share)

Key Responsibilities
- Interacts with cross-functional and R&D partners to generate product and concept ideas, develop the short-term and long-term innovation and life-cycle management pipeline for Asia Pacific founded on deep consumer, competitive, technical and/or local market insights
- Work closely with the Global R&D teams to ensure tight integration of regional innovation and life-cycle management opportunities to the Global strategy and identify, initiate and co-ordinate technical and consumer activities / tests to qualify and validate ideas and technologies from the Asia-Pacific region to roll-out to global and vice-versa.
- Provide technical inputs to support portfolio prioritization and shaping of specific technical deliverables
- Identified and leverages emerging technologies to generate new ideas and initiatives
- Ensure that product innovation meets the needs of the target consumers as well as the company’s quality and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with internal QSPs, SOPs, WWSPs and regulatory requirements
- Provide input on improving the efficiency of current work processes
- Lead the cross-functional R&D teams, providing technical coaching to enable agile, high quality and compliant delivery of R&D outputs
- Provide pipeline and project updates to senior management through regular communication.
- Work with regional and global functional leaders to support development of junior talents
- Manage resourcing and prioritization to ensure delivery of critical R&D outcomes to support the regional business and global innovation programs

**Qualifications**
Required qualification / experience / skills:

- A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology or related technical fields
- Minimum 10 years of Product Development, and/or Technical Project Leadership experience
- Experience in understanding consumer needs and translating into technical targets, product formulation/packaging solutions and claims and visualizations
- Excellent knowledge of English is required
- Ability to work independently and within diverse, global and virtual cross-functional teams
- Intellectual curiosity for new technologies, new methods & processes
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to manage complexity
- Ability to prioritize, strong sense of urgency, results and performance driven
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience in Consumer Healthcare industry desirable
- Project Management experience desirable
- Consumer Science experience desirable
