Roles & Responsibilities

a. Communicate with Marine Controller/Project Manager on operational matters, adhere to marine traffic management controls and provide alternatives on pending issues.

b. Follow the SOP in place for channel control and movement of transfer barges and log down all events in the relevant record books during watch duty.

c. Monitor and ensure that all transfer barges and craft follow the designated navigation route to and from the dumping sector.

d. Maintain a good listening watch on required VHF channel and pilot handset (when required) and continuous communication link with safety Tugs.

e. Report if any incidents that may occur i.e. Crane breakdown, hopper barge break down or injury.

f. In the event of adverse weather conditions or emergency situations, notify all the parties involved, liaise with Marine Controller, deploy safety tugs to assist vessel till pilot and assist tugs arrive.

g. Assist in other administrative duties required by Marine Controller/Project Manager.

h. Other adhoc duties as assigned.
