Reports to:
Director, Engineering

Key responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and research of MPC protocols with a focus on security, efficiency, and practical applicability in the digital assets space.
- Conduct and oversee the implementation of MPC solutions, focusing on advanced cryptographic functions and secure, scalable infrastructure.
- Spearhead the development of C++ and Rust-based systems for MPC, ensuring compliance with the highest security standards.
- Mentor and manage a specialized team of engineers dedicated to the MPC domain, guiding them towards technical excellence and innovation.
- Ensure the alignment of MPC solutions with the strategic goals of Bullish Exchange, contributing to a robust and secure custody platform.

Key experience & qualifications
- At least 15 years of experience in software engineering with a significant focus on security and cryptography.
- Proficient in C++ and Rust, with a strong track record of developing secure, high-performance systems.
- Practical knowledge of blockchain technologies, specifically related to layer 1 (L1) protocols and smart contract development.
- Demonstrated experience in architecting and scaling large-scale systems in the domain of digital assets or financial services.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Cryptography, or a closely related field.

Bonus experience
- Practical experience with the implementation of hierarchical deterministic (HD) wallets, adhering to standards such as BIP32, BIP39, BIP44.
- Previous involvement with Generalized or Customizable MPC protocols (GG or CMP).
- Background in secure custody solutions, including the integration and management of TPM and HSM environments.
- Knowledge of enhancing cloud-based infrastructure security through the implementation of Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), such as GCP Confidential Compute and AWS Nitro Enclaves.
