**Role Purpose**

With mínimal guidance, to prepare the basic structural engineering deliverables for the assigned project as per the specified technical requirements, timelines, and budget, and to understand basic engineering issues and resolve them.

**Key Accountabilities**

**Understanding Technical Requirements: -**Understands the basic technical specifications and requirements of the assigned project and applicable Industry Standards, Classification Society and Regulatory requirements.

**Design Concept: -**With minimum guidance, designs structures with proper concept & scantlings, and prepares CAD drawings or guides designers to prepare the drawings correctly.

**Analysis and Design Capabilities: -**With minimum guidance, creates structural analysis model using SAC/Staad.Pro or FEM software, performs analysis and prepares calculation report for in-house design work.

**Design Review and Quality Control: -**With minimum guidance, reviews engineering sub-contractor's analysis model and calculations, performs quality checks, optimization study and coordinate with sub-contractor for further design improvements.

**Technical Competencies: -**Independently performs simple structural calculation using excel sheet or hand calculations for local structures (padeyes, stiffeners, simple beams, pipe supports etc.) and prepares the calculation report.

**Material Take Off (MTO) & Weight Control Report (WCR) Preparation: -**Independently prepares MTO & WCR for in-house design structures, reviews/verifies MTO/WCR prepared by engineering subcontractor, consolidates weights from contractors/suppliers and prepares overall WCR for topsides/overall FPSO.

**RFQ Documentation Preparation: -**Independently prepares structural RFQs documentations for structural packages (lifting davit, plastic wood, safety gars & elastomeric bearings)

**Team and Sub Contractor / Vendor Management: -**Independently coordinates with team/engineering subcontractor/consultant/vendor, helps structural lead on engineering progress monitoring, delay catch up for both in house and sub-contractor engineering work with technical support to expedite.

**Interface Management: -**Independently reviews vendor's/contractor's structural related interface document and disseminates the information to the relevant team members or engineering contractors.

**Construction Support (Construction & Integration): -**Assists Seniors in coordination work with Construction/Integration site team and resolves technical problems.

**Administrative Tasks: -**Assists Lead and Seniors in monitoring engineering progress, arranges meetings and preparation of minutes as and when required.

**HSSEQ**: - Complies with the MODEC HSSEQ Code of Conduct as described in the HSSEQ Policies, the 14 HSEQ Standards, and the HSEQ Procedures to protect people and the environment at all times. Has a duty of care to ensure that all personnel work in a manner that is not harmful to their own health and safety and the health and safety of others.

**Compliance: -**Complies with MODEC Group’s Code of Business Conduct & Ethics and Policies to ensure business activities and decisions conform to the laws and regulations and demonstrates high standard of ethical behavior.

**Financial and Operational Dimensions/Impact and Decision-Making Authority: -**Addresses structural engineering matters on the assigned project independently or in consultation with Lead Engineer. Has no authority and accountability in monetary aspects and staff resource matters.

**Work Relationships: -**Reports to Structural Group Lead for Coporate matters and Lead Engineer for project related matters. May be assigned to mentor Associate Engineer(s).

**Qualifications**

Diploma or Degree in Civil / Structural / Mechanical / Ship Building Engineering with relevant working experience as stated below.
- Diploma: 5 years
- Bachelor: 2 years

**Competencies**

**Technical**:
**-**Advanced Microsoft Office.
- Intermediate AutoCAD.
- Basic use of analysis software such as SACS, Staad.Pro, FEMAP-Nastran or other FEM softwares.

**Leadership**
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Keen to learn. Good problem solver.
- Ability to translate business information to technical requirements.
- High accountability and adaptability skills.

**Work Conditions**

Office based, with about 15% of the time to be spent at engineering subcontractor’s office, suppliers’ sites for Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and project site for construction and commissioning support when required.
