**Duties**:
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Anywhere in the U.S. (remote job).
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Management and Program Analyst, evaluator, and advisor to management on the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative activities. Activities include, but are not limited to special assignments, project management, budgeting, procurement, auditing, acquisition, contracting, and financial management.
Duties performed:
- Serves as a management and program analysts utilizing knowledge emerging technology related to artificial intelligence (AI) project management and critical thinking skills.
- Advises efforts on emerging technology policy and funding for all aspects of the IT Portfolio and associated programs.
- Creates policies and guidance to promote AI priorities across component lines within Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
- Analyzes, develops, and reviews a variety of technical and complicated reports submitted by components and other agency officials that involve significant IT policy issues and AI topics affecting DHS.
- Plans and conducts a variety of authoritative, comprehensive, complex, and sensitive projects and studies that encompass the analysis and evaluation of AI needs and resourcing within Headquarters and DHS.

**Qualifications**:
**Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Experience requirements as noted below.**
**Specialized Experience**:
**GS-13**: Applicant must demonstrate one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the **GS-12** level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
- **1) **Recommending updates to existing policies to promote artificial intelligence (AI) priorities;
- **2) **Gathering data for management studies to identify artificial intelligence (AI) needs;
- **3) **Preparing reports on IT policy issues to brief leadership; and
- **4) **Identifying impacts of implementation of emerging technology on budget and future resource needs.**
