Job Summary

Safety and Security Specialist is responsible to inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards for all NetApp APAC sites. The chief goal is to protect the employees, customers, and environment from hazards. The SAS Specialist also provides Security cover for the region.

**Essential Functions**:

- Lead/ manage emergency response programs like first aid/CPR training, building evacuation & general emergency response planning for APAC sites
- Ensure all fire safety systems are tested, maintained, and documented.
- Conduct hazard assessments and provide mitigation guidance following established business practices.
- Coordinate/ conduct mandatory safety fire prevention training & fire drills.
- Ensure information on EHS policies is communicated, implemented, and executed among employees, vendors, and third-party contractors.
- Liasioning with govt authorities to ensure compliance and legal obligations are in line with the requirements.
- Develop, review, monitor and ensure Site Emergency Response Systems/Plans are in a state of readiness.
- Coordinate and support the ISO 14001 certification audits & assessments with the business teams
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards by local, and state agencies through the development of on-site assessments.
- Control the day-to-day operations including auditing, meetings, training and updating documents and records for all aspects of safety
- Plan and manage the event security requirements
- Respond to medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, following emergency response procedures.
- Assist in the implementation of security system projects
- Collaborate with SAS operations team to carry out security assessments and deploy security personnel as needed
- Assist the command center team during security incidents, investigations, and crises
- Work with outside suppliers of security/safety systems or personnel.
- Manage special projects as assigned.
- Should be comfortable working in 24/ 7 environment in critical situations.

Job Requirements
- Must possess a minimum of (3) years of experience in safety domain.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- In depth knowledge of Fire and safety standards
- Ability to respond to changing priorities, work well with others, and multitask.
- Industrial safety experience.
- Proficient in developing records systems, reports, and secure system processing requirements.
- Working knowledge of security requirements and incident investigation.
- MS Office proficiency with Word, Access and proprietary databases.
- Ability to follow safety principles, standards, practices and analytical techniques.

- This individual interacts primarily with their direct manager and the technical team on assigned projects and may communicate with employees in other functions as required.
- Regular and detailed direction is provided, as well as on-going review of activities and priorities.

Education
- 3+ years’ experience in EHS domain required.
- Degree/Diploma in Industrial safety & fire safety
