Software Engineer Iii, Java Cloud Engineer

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
Be an integral part of an agile team that's constantly pushing the envelope to enhance, build, and deliver top-notch technology products.

**Job responsibilities**
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Build and operate big data infrastructure, including numerous scalable data pipelines, ensuring optimal performance, reliability and security.
- Perform backtesting and optimize cloud-based distributed computing for high performance and resource efficiency.
- Manage Gemfire's distributed in-memory caching system for fast, reliable data access.
- Use Terraform to efficiently build and manage cloud infrastructure.
- Continuously improve software development processes and tools to ensure efficient and effective software development
- Define and implement best practices for data engineering, including coding standards, data modeling
- Provide technical mentorship to team members helping them grow their skills and advance their careers
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and respect

**Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills**
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields
- Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Java, Python and other programming languages used in Data Engineering
- Strong knowledge in SQL, RDMBS and No SQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Knowledge of real time message streaming platform like Kafka or AMPS
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and Operational stakeholders globally.

**Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills**
- Experience in Apache Spark or similar distributed computing platform that processes large datasets.
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code tool like Terraform.
- Experience In-Memory databases like Gemfire or Oracle Coherence.
