Software Engineer Iii, Payments Technology

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Investment Banking Payment Technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

**Job responsibilities**
- Work as a back-end software engineer (actively coding) and solid approach to writing unit level tests using mocking frameworks, as well as automating component, integration and end-to-end tests
- Hands-On on JVM languages (Java, preferably Java 8+) and experience in automating deployment, releases and testing in continuous integration, continuous delivery pipelines. Understanding of security frameworks / standards, data streaming and messaging frameworks (Kafka, Spark, etc.), distributed tracing and monitoring (Prometheus, ELK), experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Understand the distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes etc.), dependency injection frameworks (Spring / SpringBoot, etc.), microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, web technologies, relational databases

**Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or other related disciplines
- 5 or more years of software engineering experience
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security

**Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills**
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
- Exposure to cloud technologies
