Our client, Trukai, is a rice product packaging, distribution, sales and marketing company that is two-thirds owned by SunRice. It is Papua New Guinea’s leading supplier of quality rice products. Registered in 1970 by SunRice, Trukai has a number of well-established brands including Trukai and Roots Rice. Trukai’s head office and processing base is located in Lae, with a marketing office in Port Moresby and distribution facilities located throughout Papua New Guinea.

The company is desirous to hire an experienced **Marketing Head in Port Moresby and or Lae **, who will provide leadership, expertise, coaching and direction to the marketing team to ensure the marketing strategies including branding, product development, communication and sales promotion are achieved.

The incumbent will **report directly to the CEO, based Papua New Guinea **; and supervise a team of 6 staff - _Executive Assistant, Office Manager, Assistant Marketing Manager, Trade Marketing Manager, S&M Purchasing Officer and Corporate Affairs Manager.**Responsibilities:
Safety
- Complete regular workplace inspections
- All work is completed in a safe manner in accordance with Trukai safety management system
- Involvement in Safety Walks, talks, Assessments, identifies workplace hazards where applicable.

Marketing
- Develop and implement an innovative and effective brand strategy for all TIL brands
- Develop and implement and innovative and effective communication and media strategy
- Design, manage and execute the annual promotions and events calendar
- Review opportunities for new product development
- Introduce innovative Point-Of-Sale materials to best display TIL products in-store as required
- Manage all Billboards and other media operations throughout PNG
- Manage all Business Unit Sponsorship agreements.

Category Management/Trade Marketing
- Provide optimal shelf layout recommendations to maximise profitable sales at store level
- Partner retailers to ensure Category growth
- Effectively implement TIL trade and consumer promotions to maximise effectiveness
- Annually review POIS to ensure effective, efficient, design and allocation

Market Research & Analysis
- Undertake trade and consumer market research
- Provide analysis and commentary on current portfolio/brand performance
- Identify market/new product opportunities
- Analyse sales and marketing initiatives and provide feedback to sales teams

Product Development/ Innovation
- Present new initiatives, ideas and plans on new product opportunities
- Manage the launch of new products and updates

Sales Promotions
- Develop brand promotional calendars for sales opportunities - trade and consumer promotions
- Ensure the effective communication of activities with the sales teams
- Evaluate the effectiveness of trade promotions
- Report and conduct analysis of sales results from trade promotions

Leadership

Lead and develop an effective and productive team, including:

- Managing the work performance of self and direct reports
- Developing alignment between team capability and project’s objectives
- Ensuring role clarity, including responsibilities and reporting lines, exists for team members
- Identifying resource and skill gaps and communicating outcomes to senior management
- Developing operational flexibilities within and between team members
- Encouraging an environment of sharing knowledge and ideas to ensure continuous improvement within the team
- Demonstrating on a daily basis personal behaviour that uphold TIL’s values
- Keeping Up to date professionally about operational and leadership practices

Planning & Reporting

Contribute to the delivery of the Marketing Departments goals and objectives including:
- Planning and scheduling own work to meet required timelines and outputs
- Understand output requirements and clarifying as appropriate
- Ensure reports meet the required objectives and submitted on time

Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the Marketing objective by continuously seeking ways to improve the delivery

and process
- Assist to create and support a conducive environment for growth and development

Decision Making Authority
- Product, market scope, segments and targets
- Marketing mix decisions - 4P (product, price, place and promotion)

Major Challenges
- Build and execute the marketing strategy aligned to the company’s vision and market opportunities
- Develop/implement strategies to protect and enhance brand health
- Research and analyse consumer needs to identify market opportunities

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field
- At least 5 years proven experience as managing marketing at a strategic level in the FMCG sector
- Ability to manage multiple projects with varying priority at one time - to deliver results on time and under budget
- Proven ability and agility to work on a diverse brand portfolio
- Demonstrated ability to influence and convert strategy to execu
