Procurement Specialist in Landscaping and Organic Soil Solutions

Position: Procurement Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Purchasing Management: Oversee the full spectrum of the purchasing process, including sourcing, quotation inquiries, price negotiation, order placement, and delivery arrangements, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
Supplier Relations: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and suppliers. Negotiate for the best prices and favorable payment terms.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all materials and services meet user specifications and organizational standards. Liaise with suppliers to address any product issues and handle claims.
Documentation and Records: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other essential data. Prepare necessary documentation as required.
Logistics Coordination: Plan and coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely collection and delivery of orders.
Financial Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team to facilitate payment processes to suppliers.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and manage supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery times, and pricing to ensure all criteria are met.
Market Research: Conduct market research to understand supplier landscapes and market supply conditions better. Engage with industry players to stay informed about trends and developments.
Project Support: Assist the project team by compiling and submitting project-related documents as needed.
Additional Duties: Perform any other duties assigned to support the smooth functioning of the procurement department.
Job Requirements:
Educational Background: Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level with at least 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with local and international sources for materials and equipment.
Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Interpersonal Skills: A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be meticulous, independent, and detail-oriented.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational, multitasking, prioritization, and effective time management skills.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and resolve problems efficiently.
Attitude: Positive, proactive, and self-initiated.
Language Proficiency: Good written and spoken skills in English and Chinese/Mandarin to handle communications with China-based vendors and suppliers.
