- Key Work Scope and Responsibilities- Handling, negotiating and administrating cargo claims related to G2 Ocean's Pacific trades. This includes receiving, collating, and reviewing information and documentation related to incidents causing damage that have occurred in the course of G2 Ocean’s operation as a marine cargo carrier. The job holder will also be responsible for the settlement of claims and recovery from insurers.
- Handling of FD&D, Charterers Liability claims that may arise from time to time in relation to the Pacific trades.
- Responsible for managing the department’s claims system and producing regular monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc statistical reports and analyses for the Pacific trades. This will mainly involve providing information on claims to the Insurance & Claims Director, Operations department, Chartering department and overseas offices and ensuring that all department members have the assistance necessary to fully use the system.
- Responsible for monitoring and managing all stevedore injury claims.
- Cooperating with the Insurance, Legal & Claims team in other offices to ensure claims are handled efficiently, file records are maintained, and databases are updated. This will include updating insurers of vessels which come on and off charter and advising them of any claims matters, plus recovery from insurers of claims settlements when exceeding deductibles.
- Supervising the Claims Handler in Manila, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, file records are maintained and databases are updated. This will include updating insurers of vessels which come on and off charter and advising them of any claims matters, plus recovery from insurers of claims settlements when exceeding deductibles.
- Providing maritime legal advice and service to G2 Ocean's team in the Pacific region, and legal advice on various shipping contracts as required.
- Responsible for the budgeting process of all insurances and claims for the Pacific trades.
- Cooperate closely with the Claims Handler in Manila, the Legal & Claims Manager Atlantic and the Insurance & Claims Director to ensure a highly professional, cost-efficient and aligned handling of claims and legal advice within the G2 Ocean organisation.
- Be the contact person for the legal entities sorting under the Pacific Transactional Centre if any external legal services are required.**Job Requirement**
- A degree in Maritime Law from a globally renowned university is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of cargo and injury claims handling experience including some experience with Charterers Liability, FD&D matters is desired
- Experience in claims handling and shipping contracts.
- Strong administrative, organisational and IT skills.
- Team-oriented and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
