Head of English Department, English Teacher

Join inlingua as the Head of our English Department and play a pivotal role in shaping the language education landscape. You will ensure the highest quality of course delivery, lead a team of passionate teachers, and directly contribute to the academic success of our diverse learner community.

**You will**:
**1) Deliver Engaging English Lessons**
- Teach group and individual lessons for general and specific purposes, including General English, Business English, Academic English, Proficiency Exam Preparation (e.g. IELTS), and other customised courses.
- Teach on a face-to-face, blended and online basis.
- Teach at the school or the client’s office.

**2) Planning and Administrative Leadership**
- Lead and execute the planning, administering, delivery and grading aspects of courses and lessons.
- Lead the management and support of learners, monitor learner’s progress, counsel learners, and place new learners.
- Manage, support, evaluate, and train teachers in the English department and other teaching staff, including the assignment and scheduling of teachers to classes.
- Lead staff department meetings, engage in peer observations, research and training, and other departmental and evaluation tasks.
- Develop and organise engaging extra-curricular activities for learners, such as field trips or workshops.

**3) Curriculum and Business Development**
- Oversee course reviews, and ensure the quality of course delivery and instruction across all English courses
- Spearhead the development of new courses, innovative curricula, teaching materials and tests delivery to meet the evolving needs of learners and enhance the overall learning experience, and other development projects.
- Meet with clients to conduct needs assessments and maintain high satisfaction rates.
- Perform a range of administrative and strategic planning tasks, and support the Director of Studies in departmental and academic functions.

**We’re looking for someone who**:

- Holds a language teaching certification and a university degree, equivalent or higher educational qualification.
- Has a high level of linguistic competence in the target language (ability to use it and describe its grammar and vocabulary, but also use it in a manner that is appropriate for a classroom setting).
- Has extensive English language teaching experience, with ideally over 6,000 hours of in L2 classroom settings, demonstrating a track record of effective language instruction.
- Demonstrates leadership qualities and has experience in curriculum development, teacher training, and the management of educational projects
- Exhibits a professional and dynamic presence, possesses exceptional interpersonal and intercultural skills, capable of not only motivating and inspiring learners, but also mentoring and leading teaching staff.
- Possesses strong strategic planning and organisation skills, and an adept and proactive approach to handling both educational and administrative challenges.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and actively seeks to implement innovative teaching methods and educational technologies.
- Demonstrates leadership qualities and has experience in curriculum development, teacher training, and the management of educational projects
- Is thoroughly familiar with key educational standards and assessment frameworks relevant to language teaching, including the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), and is knowledgeable about teacher qualification pathways.
- Has excellent computer skills and can seamlessly integrate teaching methodologies across in-person and online platforms.

Pay: $5,000.00 - $6,500.00 per month
