Material Buyer in handling both direct and indirect purchases.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Managing all procurement function such as sourcing & purchase of goods, materials, components and services, administer subcontracting and purchase orders to suppliers.
- Plan, schedule and expedite deliveries to support order fulfillment and to meet project deadline. Responsible to resolve shortages, missed and late deliveries. Communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations.
- Responsible for sourcing, negotiating with suppliers to constantly strive for best purchase price, shorter delivery lead-time while maintaining the highest level of quality, reliability and service.
- Evaluate supplier quotes, services, delivery and quality performance to determine the most desirable supply option.
- Proactively work with various stakeholders (Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing) to understand customer requirement, project specification and communicate status of orders.
- Cost management to identify areas of potential cost reduction.
- Managing and maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis.
- Manage supplier selection process, supplier analysis & engagement strategy, update & maintain Approved Vendor List and periodic supplier assessment. Build relationships with suppliers and manage their performance.
- Work closely with others in the Procurement functions and review opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Any other tasks assigned by Supply Chain Manager.

**The Individual**
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Management or Procurement & Logistic Management/ in Supply chain with at least 1-year experience
- Diploma in Mechanical or Material Management Engineering with at least 3 years’ experience
- Previous working experience in purchasing team preferably within oil and gas industry or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with SAP MM module or ERP systems would be beneficial.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and negotiation skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel and Word.
- Ability to work well under pressure, fast paced environment and handle emergency and stressful situations.
- Ability to work well with a team
