Job Title: Bartender
**Occupation**
A front of the house role focused on sourcing, preparation and service of beverages for a 45-seater experiential dining restaurant with a strong following for cocktails and mocktails. This position is expected to interact and collaborate with other service & kitchen personnel and show the highest attention to detail and compliance with Podi & Poriyal Restaurant policies and standards. This position is suited for a person who is passionate about bartending, setting new trends and curating a cocktail list in assistance with mixologists.
Job Description & Requirements
Bartender (Full time)
Wed - Mon (Split shift 11:00am to 1530pm then 18:00 to 22:00).
This role reports to the Restaurant Manager
**Responsibilities**:
- Preparing drink orders for patrons, including mixing beverages and serving them to customers
- Creating new alcoholic beverages or updating existing recipes based on customer requests
- Overseeing the inventory of liquor in the bar, ordering new supplies when necessary, and organizing storage space for bottles
- Managing all bar operations including inventory, ordering supplies, and creating drink specials
- Ensuring that customers receive prompt attention from bartenders
- Maintaining cleanliness of bar area and equipment to ensure sanitary conditions for patrons
- Determining when to stop serving alcohol to patrons who have had too much to drink
- Observe and taste beverages to determine if they have been prepared sufficiently
- Prepare mise en place before service, Portion, arrange, and garnishes
- Ensure weekly and monthly revenue targets are being met for beverage revenue while maintaining and/or improving beverage cost of sales
- Substitute for or assist others during emergencies or rush periods, show teamwork
- Maintain professional and positive demeanour with all staff at all times and be a real team player with the kitchen and service staff, with leading bar operations as an example for all
- Follow opening and closing procedures
- Learn and follow through occasional managerial duties when assigned
- Support Restaurant Manager’s decisions and execute delegated duties
- Follow instructions and task completion given by management
- Ability to work on split shifts and on weekends
**Requirements**:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Well groomed, observing good personal hygiene and organisational skills
- Degree or diploma in hospitality preferred but not neccessary
- Experience of working in a bar as bartender for at least 1 years and/or in a similar position for at least 1 year
- Strong passion in communicating and showcasing of their craft to customers
- Able to communicate in polite and yet engaging manner with customers
- Well versed in Indian cuisine and preparation techniques would be preferred but not necessary
- The ability to remain warm and calm under pressure and while multitasking
- Exceptional prioritising skills, efficient and productive
- Positive, responsive, reliable
