Role Context

abrdn is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Senior Operational Risk Analyst within the Risk & Compliance function. The role will be based in Singapore and report to the Head of Operational Risk - Asia Pacific.

About the role
- Support in the implementation of global operational risk policies, the risk management framework and other risk initiatives in Asia Pacific
- Work closely with business units to effectively manage operational risk in accordance with legal, regulatory and internal requirements
- Oversee the risk event/incident reporting and engage with business to assess on ‘lessons learned’ from risk events
- Conduct reviews to identify operational risks and provide recommendations to business to address the control weaknesses, and monitor the implementation progress of the enhanced controls
- Challenge and support business areas to assess their risk and control profiles by utilising operational risk management tools such as the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) exercise and risk reviews
- Review and analyse risk data and provide meaningful insights to share with Senior Management and Boards
- Support the production of Board risk reports and dashboards as well as ad-hoc reporting
- Provide regional support, education and training to colleagues on the risk management database and documentation of risk exposures

Role requirements
- Ideally 3 to 5 years’ experience of working in a compliance and/or risk function within the asset management business, Investment Management or in the broader financial services sector
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Computer Science, Information Technology;
- Knowledge in operational risk domain within asset management industry;
- Experience in performing Risk Analysis and Operational Risk Assessment;
- Understanding of security issues, operational risks and process improvement in the areas of operational controls, technology and business;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines;
- Effective communicator with excellent communication skills;
- Analytical and meticulous and able to work independently and in a team.
