Job Purpose:COFCO International, with its global activities and strong presence in origins and destinations, is seeking a Senior Market Risk Analyst to support APAC commodity activities and the company's financial platform.
The Risk group is an independent global team responsible for overseeing trading activities, implementing performance and risk metrics, reporting to management, and enforcing the market risk framework.
The team focuses on market understanding, scenario building, and risk mitigation to prevent losses.
Reporting to the Global Head of Market Risk , your responsibilities include:
- Developing Market Risk Analytics and methodologies.
- Creating reports on key risks to the company's portfolio and trading activities.
- Ensuring control, systems, and processes are consistent across global teams.
- Understanding and explaining Value-at-Risk movements and trading strategies.
- Using market knowledge to analyze commercial activities and performance.
- Assessing embedded optionality and risk profiles of assets.
- Managing relationships with stakeholders, including Front Office, Operations, Finance, and IT.
- Applying historical, fundamental, and scenario analysis for risk evaluation.
- Creating tools and models for risk capture.
- Performing daily risk reporting, strategy understanding, and risk escalation.
- Enforcing the Global Market Risk Policy regionally.
- 5-6+ years of experience in agriculture or financial trading, market risk, research, middle office, or trading roles.
- Understanding of agriculture or FX markets, trading strategies, and risk highlighting.
- Knowledge of position management and price risk for commodities and FX.
- Familiarity with market risk metrics like Value-at-Risk.
- Understanding of options and Greeks modeling.
- Proactive, self-starting attitude.
- Strong Excel skills; knowledge of R, C#, SQL, or Python is a plus.
