**A well established and reputable company listed on the Singapore Exchange is looking for an Employment Lawyer and a Director of Human Resources, to be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role which offers an exciting opportunity for practicing lawyers and in-house legal counsel wishing to expand their responsibilities and seek new challenges.**

**The group has diversified businesses and its principal activities include investment holding, hotel ownership, hotel management, real estate investment, real estate development, asset management, ship owing, ship chartering, ship management, ship agency, terminal operations and ancillary marine services.**

**The company has offices in Singapore and Australia, and this role heads the group’s human resource functions, and provides legal support for the group as part of the legal team.**

The job responsibilities include:
**LEGAL**
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts;
- Identify risk and compliance related issues and provide mitigation measures;
- Handle all legal, contractual and compliance related matters on group level;
- Provide legal support for investments, due diligence and projects;
- Provide employment law advice to the company’s HR team and other stakeholders on a broad range of issues, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, terminations, internal investigations, compensation, workplace harassment, benefits, privacy, immigration and employee classification;
- Drafting, reviewing and advising on employment related documents, including offer letters, separation agreements, confidentiality agreements, and commission and bonus plans;
- Manage cross border employment issues;
- Manage employment related projects, including process reviews and the creation, implementation, and continual improvement of policies and procedures;
- Create and update training programmes on various employment law topics;
- Monitor employment law related legislation, regulations, legal developments;
- Advise on employment related privacy issues.

**HR**
- Partnering with the business and driving human resource efficiencies in the group, in an advisory role on all human capital activities;
- Oversee HR functions, review, implement and maintain all policies, processes and systems;
- Review and formulate strategies to enable the company to attract, motivate, develop and retain talent;
- Partner with and provide advice to management and heads of departments on all people and HR related matters;
- Ensure the company complies with labour and employment laws, regulations and policies;
- Custodian of HR policies and procedures (“P&P”), develop and regularly review and update P&Ps so that they remain relevant;
- Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals in the company to develop high quality and timely advices to the company;
- Lead the company’s people strategy and deliver HR transformation to create a high performing and inclusive workforce;
- Conduct training and feedback sessions to brainstorm ideas for best practices;
- Develop and implement effective learning and development initiatives and strategies;
- Develop, design and drive learning and development strategies, policies and processes to strengthen the learning culture.

**Requirements**:

- A law degree from a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
- Have at least 5 years post qualification experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
- Experience working in a HR Department an advantage, but not a necessity.
- High level oral and written communication skills.
- Fluency in reading, writing, drafting documents essential.
- Ability to exercise and express sound legal judgment in a commercial environment.
- Ability to take responsibility for, and ownership of your work, with an attention to detail.
- Flexible team player with strong organizational skills, tenacity, initiative and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritise a diverse and constant work flow so that internal stakeholder needs are satisfied.
- Excellent knowledge of employment laws.
- Confidence and ability to communicate and advise all levels of the business up to and including the Chairman and CEO.
- A “can do” attitude and willing to take on new challenges.
- An ability to provide pragmatic and commercial solutions to problems.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $8,000.00 - $12,000.00 per month
