**Your team responsibilities**

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as a Market Expert with MSCI ESG Ratings team. MSCI ESG Ratings team members research and rate companies on a 'AAA' to 'CCC' scale based on the companies' industry specific ESG risks and their ability to manage those risks relative to industry peers. The team analyzes data sourced through internal teams and external data suppliers and follows a rules-based methodology to determine the rating. The companies rated are spread across the developed and emerging markets, and range in size from large to small scale. This role has a focus on the real estate sector for China market. His/her work will be having a relative focus on China market for real estate sector, once s/he acquires knowledge of MSCI ESG ratings methodology and of global ESG practices.**What we offer you**

**Your key responsibilities**
- Deliver high quality ESG research for companies in our global coverage on a timely basis with a focus on China market
- Support implementation of quality control measures and oversee research conducted by other members of the team with a focus on China market
- Be the go-to person for the real estate sector in China through initiatives such as creating/sharing knowledge of related sector/market
- Coordinate with internal and external teams in enhancing the quality of the data sourced;
- Contribute to ongoing improvements of the ESG ratings model;
- Contribute to implementing processes critical for ensuring operational stability

**Your skills and experience that will help you excel**
- Master's degree in Business Administration / Finance/ Sustainability/ Environment
- 5+ years of experience in the real estate sector or investment environment or credit rating capacity.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to articulate viewpoints
- Strong communication skills
- both oral and written in English and Mandarin, Japanese language and knowledge of Japan real estate are strong assets
- Has good understanding of the economic, policy and regulatory landscape in China
- Well versed with the typical corporate governance practices followed by the companies in the market
- Comfortable working in a team environment across hierarchies, functions, and geographies
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
