Technician Ii

**Purpose statement**:
To ensure manufactured products can ship within the promised time frame and meeting all QC checks.

**Essential Functions**:
Chemical Synthesis of short strands of DNA (Oligonucleotides).
Post synthesis processing.
QC sampling & Yield quantification.
Perform HPLC purification of Oligonucleotides.
Perform product formulation.
Check-in finished product to the shipping department.
Monitor synthesis, laboratory instrument reagent, and system liquid bottle levels to achieve high level of manufacturing success.
Assist in responding to chemical spills.
Perform decontamination of equipment and workspace.
Other duties assigned by management.
Practice safe work practices and comply with IDT safety policy.
Comply with IDT’s Quality Policy and adhere to ISO 9001 Standards & requirements.
Able to work shift hours when required.

**Education**:
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Science related field or an equivalent combination of education & experience required.

**Professional Experience**:
Must be comfortable working with chemicals and follow proper safety and handling instructions.
Basic understanding of DNA synthesis is preferred.
Basic understanding of SAP or other inventory management systems is preferred.

**Pushing/Pulling**: using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward/using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

**Climbing**: stairs, stools, ramps, ladders.

**Visual Acuity**:
Work requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to read pertinent printed material and distinguish colors.
Ability to accurately read measurements on equipment.
Ability to prepare and read written documentation; use of computer.
