The Asia Managing Director is responsible for all markets in Asia (not including China) and drives The Conference Board’s expansion in the assigned markets, strategically and operationally. The Asia Managing Director grows and engages with the organization’s regional memberships, develops executive programs and services, Centers, and content develops its people, formulates and executes annual operational plans, and ensures the achievement of financial targets.
The Asia Managing Director evaluates market opportunities, formulates strategies, designs and oversees the execution of strategies, and develops quality programs to grow The Conference Board’s membership and program revenues to positively impact the assigned markets while achieving fiscal year financial targets. The Asia Managing Director also shares responsibilities for enhancing TCB’s stature and reputation in the assigned regions as a relevant, objective, and ethical institution serving business and society, serving personally as a spokesperson to the business community in helping in developing the appropriate media and engagement strategies for the region.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Formulates regional product strategies and directs and oversees the execution of the strategic plans for those activities.
- Identifies specific opportunities to develop high-profile programs.
- Assists in the continuous development of the Associate, Council, Conference, and Center Membership models and related go-to-market approaches, including financial, people, and sales management.
- Responsible for developing regional goals by mutual agreement with Managing Director International, including all regional revenue and expense objectives.
- Prepares operating, program, budgets center, and membership plans in support of the strategic plans and oversee their performance.
- Centers include Asia Human Capital(HC), Economy Strategy & Finance (ESF) as well as Governance & Sustainability, each with dedicated program directors.
- Develops ongoing processes for identifying member needs and engagement, tailoring programs and content to meet these needs.
- Develops business plans and identifies and attracts appropriate talent to lead these efforts.
- Recruits manages, develops, and evaluates staff in Singapore, Hong Kong, and India and contractors under direction. Ensures leaders are developed.
- Designs, monitors, and coordinates external communications and marketing strategies for brand building and outreach, including the Asia Center webcasts, podcasts City
- and member
- briefings program.
- Identifies press, op-eds, media appearances, and other opportunities to raise The Conference Board’s brand visibility amongst our professional target audiences in the assigned region.
- Represents The Conference Board to its members and the public.
- Acts as a spokesperson with media and has an active social media presence.
- Contributes to content development and dissemination.
- Guides the intellectual direction of the Asia Corporate Leadership Council
- Participates and provides guidance to The Conference Board’s insights plan and ensures dissemination of the relevant and impactful insights in the assigned region.
- Act as TCB’s ambassador for assigned region, in particular to the Asian business community..
- Responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with Advisory Board members, Global Counsellors, and corporate executives in the assigned regions.
- Works in close collaboration with the China Center Leader and staff as well as the European Management team to ensure sharing of best practices, leveraging of resources, and synergies.
- Grow total revenue in the Asia region. Builds The Conference Board’s presence in existing markets (e.g., S.E. Asia and Hong Kong). Identifies new market opportunities in potential markets (e.g., India, Japan, Australia) and creates market entry strategies.
