Role Description

As a Senior Data Strategist, you will use your data analysis experience, business acumen and creativity to drive sales pipeline rigor with automated reporting and insights. As a member of the Pipeline & Programs team, you will use a data-driven approach to sharpen decision-making and hone in on the metrics that matter to deepen our understanding of our fast growing business. Combined with the resources of a dedicated sales force, our insights translate directly to accelerated revenue growth and improve Google's ability to serve its Cloud customers at scale. In this role, you'll be building scalable solutions that will help make data relevant to the Cloud on current and historical performance, visualizing the key opportunities for growth. Using your strong technical skills, you will build tools to automate reporting and dashboard updates so the Cloud leadership team can quickly and accurately see how their businesses are performing. You'll be the liaison with the broader community of BI analysts globally ensuring global consistency and practices. You'll be involved in defining user requirements, building & maintaining the data infrastructure, designing reports, & ensuring timely delivery to the end users.

**Responsibilities**:

- Build channel attribution model to understand the effectiveness of different marketing channels and its impact on the customer's decision to convert, or to take the desired next step, so Google can allocate its marketing resources accordingly.
- Understand and critically analyse the demand generation funnel and provide strategic recommendations on funnel optimisation.
- Understand the current business model, improve on or develop a better forecast model to predict business performance.
- Work with the cross functional teams throughout the organisation to create work that distils multiple sources of information into a cohesive strategy and ensure that the strategy is understood and integrated into the business.
- Proactively identify patterns or trends in the business and anticipate potential problems; and work with wider teams to develop preventative measures.
- Leads and manages the data engineers to collaborate and devise performance measure frameworks and incorporate learnings into documentations and briefs.
- Work with data engineers to continuously innovate, automate existing manual processes and seek out new opportunities.
- Make recommendations to improve the current rhythm of the business reporting, taking best practices from other regions
- Work on propensity modeling to devise better account targeting and improve areas of investment
- Participate in QMRs, QBRs and Planning cadence to facilitate business insights for the business
- Design and produce project trackers; provide weekly reporting updates for better visibility.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Highly organized and self-motivated individual with distinctive problem-solving, strategic and analytical capabilities
- Strategy Ops, senior strategist 5-8 years experience.
- JavaScript, HTML, CSS and similar coding experience
- Experience with Google Analytics solutions such as PLX, Data Studio, Looker, etc.
- Strong experience with SQL and Visualization tools
- Capable of back-end and data processing work necessary to power UIs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with presentation and spreadsheet software
