The position requires the ability to develop critical relationships across multiple countries and cultures with our representatives and major customers ranging from Engineering Procurement Contractors (EPC's), National Energy Companies and Floating Production Storage Offloading (FPSO) contractors. These relationships are pivotal to understand and identify future opportunities and project critical success factors, that are transformed into WINNING sales strategies to secure new equipment business.
Nature and Scope:
- Applies knowledge of turbo-machinery products and services in the Oil and Gas markets to identify sales opportunities, propose solutions, and to convince customers that our products differentiate Solar as the best company to meet their needs-
- Develop solutions to technical problems involving other Solar organizations such as Engineering, Project Management, and Quality as well as external suppliers and customers in the resolution of specific issues- Conduct complex customer negotiations and limiting project risk. Responsible for not only identifying and managing critical issues but also for bringing them to an agreeable conclusion- Continually increase product and process knowledge to perform duties more effectively and in preparation for a role in Field Sales- Improve knowledge of the performance capabilities of Solar’s entire product line, as well as knowledge of sales strategy, economics, competitor capabilities, and customers
Principal Accountabilities:
- Manages customer interface and on-going relations with clients to assure all technical services are delivered as expected, to assure the next sale, and to assure Solar delivers to customer expectations- Prepare technical and commercial proposals by reviewing customer specifications, developing corresponding technical comments, and developing scope and pricing-
- Ensure commercial and technical risks are effectively managed during proposal preparation and specification reviews- Defend Solar’s standard product design in customer negotiations. Using your relationship-building skills, influence customers decisions towards Solar’s solution-
- Responsible to keep up-to-date on competitor technical and commercial developments, tactics and provide market feedback- Works closely with the Sales Manager and assures that all work product complies with company policies and procedures and is in concert with the company’s overall sales strategy
Environment:
Travel is required within the Asia Pacific region. Function in multicultural environments, collaborating with other professionals to prepare technical and commercial proposals and coordinate contract details as well as to respond to unique project conditions/demands. Deal with dynamic, fast paced, ever shifting conditions and challenges against competition and demanding customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Moderate turbomachinery experience is required, including the engineering and operation of the equipment along with potential impact to customers- Demonstrated cross functional leadership; in order to identify and secure resources necessary to prepare proposals, deliver on commitments- Strong negotiation and influencing skills; Able to effectively influence a variety of business partners, peers and customers- Must demonstrate the ability to interface cross culturally as well as cross functionally- Self-driven, motivated, ability to work independently, high productivity level and sense of urgency- Fluency in both written and spoken English- High level of emotional intelligence
Desired Qualifications:- Demonstrate good business judgment. An MBA is not mandatory but is considered to be an asset- Excellent technical knowledge of turbomachinery, the oil and gas industry, competition- A willingness to travel and a customer focused approachAdditional Information:
