Core Responsibilities:

- Develop in conjunction with the Underwriting team a Risk Management structure including pre-bind assessment report structures and risk grading tools, Estimated Maximum Loss (EML) calculation guidelines including use of external modelling tools, occupancy hazard ratings, and other Risk Management capabilities for the Energy and Construction unit.
- Conduct Risk Management services including pre-bind risk assessment reports, attend Client roadshows and meetings, attend and conduct site surveys, develop risk improvement recommendations, loss reviews, account service plans and other work for the Energy and Construction unit.
- Management of assigned independent Risk Consulting service providers and consultants where necessary
- Develop and maintain report forms, service instructions, reference materials, training guides, service tools & model recommendations
- Development and management of publications and website content
- Assure the timely delivery of quality work cost-effectively, meeting department performance metrics
- Contribute to Underwriting guidelines, research, and manage emerging issues and assess business opportunities and prospective insured submissions.
- Maintain existing value-added services or develop new services to meet customer expectations
- Provide marketing support including materials and presentations and deliver technical presentations when required
- Participate in department initiatives & planning sessions to address emerging issues, business opportunities, and corporate directives
- Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key brokers and Clients.
- Effectively communicate with management on all issues both within and outside the Unit as needed.
- Interact and coordinate activities with other departments (e.g. Claims, Market Management).
- Liaise with other Everest International underwriting departments as necessary.
- Recommend new procedures and programs where warranted.

- Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships both internally and externally.
- Maintains and develops market knowledge including competitor profiles and products.
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Judgment and decision making skills - ability to use logic rationality and objectivity in decision making.

Experience & Qualifications
- Relevant experience in the Insurance industry as an Oil and Gas Risk Engineer
- Preferably demonstrable experience in the Oil and Gas industry
- Degree in chemical or mechanical engineering
- Solid presentation skills and experience.
- Ability to work with large accounts, producers and Underwriting partners
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Possess strong writing, verbal, & interpersonal skills.
