**JOB SUMMARY**
- To assist Library Manager to supervises all activities in the Main and Junior Libraries.
- To assist Library Manager to overseeing day-to-day operations of assigned staff to ensure better customer service in the library.
- Guide and assist members in locating information using library resources.
- Up-keep maintenance of library facilities and resources.
- Performs such other functions that may be assign from time to time.
**Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to**
- Developing and conducting programs for the Junior Library to promote user engagement and library usage
- Suggesting books for the collection development of the Junior Library
- Curating a list of recommended books to read for the Junior Library annually
- Cataloguing and physically processing new acquisitions for the month
- Assisting the manager in handling matters of the Library Panel with tasks such as:
- Preparing the agenda for the committee meeting
- Taking minutes of the meeting
- Preparing the monthly reports and relevant data for discussion
- Organizing and oversee events like author talks or workshops under the Library
- Preparing information resources and guides for services available to members
- Supporting day-to-day operations and administration of the Library by:
- Carrying out shelf-reading to ensure the library floor remains tidy and organized and shelve returned items
- Handling counter duties like issues, returns, reservations, and account creation
- Physically processing new books and magazines
- Contributing to any library initiatives and other ad-hoc tasks
- Following up with vendors as necessary for subscriptions, acquisitions, and procurement
- Proactively communicating with members and collect feedback on library resources and usage

**Requirements**:
- Minimally a recognized diploma, with preference given to MSc in Information Studies (MLIS or equivalent) holders
- At least 2 years of professional working experience in libraries
- Ability to work with and manage children between ages 3 to 14
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for reading and promoting reading
- Ability to work on scheduled shifts which include weekends and public holidays
- Service-oriented with good written and verbal communications skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Fair level of digital and information literacy
