Singapore Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment Full time

**What the role is**
- You will be part of a dynamic team that safeguards and advances Singapore's strategic interests in environmental, water, and food sustainability, through engagement at international and multilateral platforms. You will work closely with stakeholders, foreign counterparts, and international organisations to represent Singapore’s interests in sustainability issues of global interest. These include leading and supporting Singapore’s participation in ongoing intergovernmental negotiations on the new international instrument on plastic pollution, multilateral environmental agreements, green economy agreements, and free trade agreements.

**What you will be working on**
- Analyse and report global environmental developments and trends, and assess their implications on Singapore’s domestic environmental policies.
- Provide assessments and recommendations to shape Singapore’s international environmental policy and engagement strategy.
- Analyse domestic and international policy interests in environmental sustainability to balance trade-offs and coordinate Singapore’s overall interests.
- Represent and defend Singapore’s positions on environmental and sustainability, including at bilateral and multilateral negotiations.
- Profile Singapore’s environmental sustainability strategies at multilateral platforms and meetings around the world.
- Plan and support the participation of Singapore’s political office holders and senior officials at high-level multilateral environmental meetings.
- Plan and host high-level meetings and visits on environmental sustainability by foreign VIPs.

**What we are looking for**
- Tertiary qualification, 2 - 5 years of related working experience
- Strong analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate and develop effective working relationships with others
- Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently, but also able to work well in teams
- Open to learning new skills
- Willingness to travel
