Structured Power Trader

Singapore AXPO SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. Full time

AXPO SINGAPORE is expanding its power trading desk and is searching for a Structured Power Trader to cover Japan power market.

**Main duties
- Generate margins and contribute to the profitability of the APAC Power desk and AXSG other desks (as applicable)
- Manage and develop energy derivatives trading flow and structured business with existing and new counterparties in Japan (Utilities, PPS, industrials, project developers) focused on Power, Gas, LNG and Oil products
- Structure complex and bespoke transactions, lead financial, valuation, risk analysis, negotiation strategy and all commercial aspects of such transactions
- Manage contracts negotiations based on ISDA/others and lead due diligence and coordinate trade execution with the relevant Front desk and internal functions
- Ensure compliance with regulation, internal compliance rules.
- Increase Axpo commercial networks and develop strong relationship with the APAC energy industry
- Attend regional/national energy conferences and promote Axpo Brand name

**Education and professional experience**
- University degree in business, finance, economics or energy related field.
- Min 7-10-year experience in the energy derivatives trading, preferably focused on APAC power markets, LNG, Gas and/or Oil markets
- Ability to translate fundamental analysis and quantitative modeling of derivatives into trading and optimization opportunity
- Proven track record in the structuring and transacting of energy derivatives products (physical being a plus)
- In depth knowledge of Petrochemical, LPG industries would be a plus
- Solid networks in the energy industry focused on power, gas, LNG, oil and Japan/Australia

- Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail
- Strong skills in negotiating ISDA and other energy derivatives agreements
- Good command of MS Office, especially Excel

**Other skills**
- Strong commercial acumen and entrepreneurial spirit
- Creativity in structuring and deal-making, driven by results
- Demonstrated negotiation and relationship management skills, with ability to build and maintain productive partnership
- Comprehensive understanding of commodity trading, financing and risk management
- Fluency in English and Japanese (compulsory for the role)
- Ability to work under pressure, fast and volatile market conditions
