Our global trading offices are staffed by experienced traders who count Gas, Crude Oil, Light and Middle Distillates, Fuel Oil, emissions as well as Bitumen, as their specialties. The traders are supported by skilled shipping and financial operations personnel, headquartered in Athens

**Main Responsibilities**
- Check tenders, purchase and sale contracts and amendments specifically related to shipping clauses i.e. laytime and demurrage and ability to provide feedbacks in order to protect our interests, always aligned to the deal recaps concluded.
- Checking and handling of Owners’ and trading partners’ demurrage and trade claims.
- Preparing and issuing claims and /or counterclaims to trading partners and ship owners.
- Full responsibility for checking Owners’ freights invoices, PDAs, FDAs and all other shipping operating costs.
- All shipping operating costs including freights, PDAs, FDAs and all claims including demurrages and any other claims relating to the vessels are to be checked and verified and dispersed on timely basis and always meeting the various time-bar in contracts.
- Keep accurate records, produce periodical and ad hoc reports and identify key trends to reduce the overall demurrage and any other claims exposure of the company.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with the traders, operators and BB Energy’s chartering brokers.
- Provide proactive commercial support, analytical assessment and give advice/feedback to reduce claims.
- Key in and update relevant shipping operating costs into BBE’s system for reporting as well as for vouching purposes.
- Managing the cargo shipping insurance settlements with our Athens office.
- Provide regular reports to Traders, Operations manager and Head of Claims.
- To assist Operations Dept with any other operations works as and when assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Occasional travel required

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s or equivalent education - preferably in Para-legal/Shipping
- Relevant experience of minimum 5-7 years in a petroleum trading company or in a tanker ship management company
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and tactful in handling counter parties.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of contracts, charter-parties and key laytime/demurrage provisions and the terminology associated with the petroleum industry commodities.
- Strong facilitation, planning, organizational, analytical and teamwork skills.
- Computer Literate in Microsoft Suite, experience in commercial systems and ability to learn new ones.
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative.
- Experience with tankers is essential
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
