**About the Department**:
With presence in 18 countries outside Singapore, Group International Management (GIM) seeks to enable each and every of the Group’s international entities to deliver holistic banking solution to our target clients. GIM serves as a “bridge” to bring countries and Head Office stakeholders together to ensure smooth business operations and bring meaningful value to the UOB franchise. Through its FDI Advisory team, GIM further offers a comprehensive one-stop platform that helps companies enter foreign markets, maneuver the complex regulatory landscape, and provides local business insights. GIM also supports the Group’s M&A activities, and the Strategic Investment Workgroup, that works with business units to manage the Group’s Fintech investments.

**Responsibilities**:

- The M&A team within the UOB Group/Group International Management plays a critical role in supporting the Group’s M&A and strategic investment ambitions. The team is responsible for the end-to-end project life cycle of M&A and strategic investment transactions working alongside business sponsors and advisers.
- Team members will be expected to keep abreast of industry market trends and dynamics, competitive intelligence, market positionings, regional regulations and policies to identify and evaluate M&A and strategic investment opportunities.
- Team members will work with investment banks and other financial advisers to originate opportunities. The team collaborates with internal business champions on their requirements and aligning its deliverables with objectives of Group Strategy.
- The team advises senior management and business sponsors on opportunities, and follows up with comprehensive evaluation, structuring, negotiating and brings such opportunities to completion.
- During evaluation phase, the team project manages internal due diligence teams and works with advisers, focusing on identifying synergies and risk assessment. Team members further work with business champions and the strategy team for clearing management and board governance processes. Post-signing, the team ensures smooth handover to the integration team.
- Team members will further track/monitor post-investment developments especially for strategic investments.

**Job Requirements**:

- A good degree from a recognized university. Those with a postgraduate qualification such as MBA, CPA or CFA would have an advantage
- _At least 8 years’ relevant experience either in investment banking or financial advisory and ideally with project management qualification and experience_
- Additionally, private equity investing experience would be an advantage
- Experience covering financial institutions and financial technology would be useful especially those with a strong understanding of the ASEAN banking and fintech landscape
- Strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team; FVP/SVP appointees would be expected to manage teams
