Manager (Environmental Outreach & Biodiversity)

You are responsible for assisting the Environmental Outreach team with various projects, namely the Biodiversity Learning Trails, Green Homes and the Earth Helpers’ Programme.

**Job Description
**Green Communities**
- Assist to arrange and conduct training workshops for all green home auditors to promote environmentally responsible living
- Assist to liaise with IT vendor to enhance the green homes website
- Support the collation of audit bookings from residents in the North West region
- Assist to administer and ascertain the distribution of home audits to the volunteers
- Provide monthly data to the finance department monthly to ensure prompt billing to the green home auditors
- Assist to facilitate biodiversity learning trails
- Assist to develop contents for the biodiversity trails

**Earth Helpers’ Programme**
- Assist with new recruitment sign-ups
- Provide support to execute on-going volunteer events
- Assist to develop new volunteer events and activities
- Garner participation from schools, corporate and SEC’s clients for SEC’s volunteer events
- Assist to regularly update volunteer hours

**Training and Education**
- Design, develop and implement environmental sustainability or biodiversity-related training and education outreach programs for a wide range of stakeholders in the private, public and people sector, contributing to the council’s mission to foster lasting environmental and societal values to achieve environmental sustainability
- Liaison with clients to tailor training and consultancy packages to meet their needs
- Monitor demand and popularity of available programs and propose changes when necessary
- Recruit, train and maintain pool of freelance trainers and qualified consultants to run courses and provide professional services
- Oversee the tracking of data on workshops and courses that will go towards producing monthly progress reports
- Responsible for conducting training sessions when necessary
- Responsible for all biodiversity and T&E-related programs budgets
- Oversee creation and maintenance of project documentation, training contents and financial-related records e.g. Eco-Ambassador training Program

**Cross Functional Projects**

a) Green Map - Mobile app where other green infrastructures are located in Singapore

b) Eco-Life SG App
- conceptualize, scope with vendor development phase, test app, promote app through T&E programs and road shows

c) Green DNA Initiatives-conceptualize/define framework, promoting, partner acquisition to join SEC

**Biodiversity**
- Conduct biodiversity research in areas related and relevant to SEC’s mission and programs whenever required
- Represent the council in external stakeholders’ engagement sessions for biodiversity-related matters / issues e.g. the BirdPark, LTA etc.

**Others**
- Represent SEC at events/meetings/committees eg as a Judge for competitions etc.
- Leadership and management of staff:

- Guide, coach and develop staff to acquire competencies required of their job.
- Lead and motivate staff to give their best and provide supervision
- Assigns appropriate level and amount of work to staff, communicates work objectives clearly and manages staff’s progress well
- Any other duties assigned by the Deputy Executive Director from time to time

**Job Requirements**
- Degree in Science or equivalent
- At least 6 years’ experience in training and education with at least 3 years of provened experience in leading a team
- Hands-on approach with good interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
- Good command of English and well-versed with MS office
- Passion for the environment
- Knowledge of local and global environment issues is an advantage
