Caterpillar seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player to serve as Attorney in Singapore. The position is part of the Legal - Sales and Services team and assigned to support the Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division, as well as the broader Caterpillar Law, Security & Public Policy Division and will report to a senior level attorney in Texas, U.S.A. The attorney may be assigned a combination of responsibilities in various areas. This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented individual to join a world-class legal team and work on sophisticated, international issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Draft, review, revise, negotiate, and provide counsel to the business on commercial contracts;
- Advise management on legal issues arising from Caterpillar's relationship with third parties, including specific commercial, disputes, regulatory, compliance, investigation, and other issues that may arise from time to time;
- Provide counselling on legal matters and related risks and opportunities based on an accurate interpretation of the law as it applies to various situations;
- Have and/or develop a deep understanding of the business, to consult with management on matters involving significant risk to the enterprise and requiring a high degree of confidentiality.
- Work independently but with support and collaboration of other attorneys and senior leadership within the Law, Security & Public Policy Division;
- Participate in day-to day tactical legal practice, identifying and resolving issues in a variety of practice areas; and
- Coordinate with outside counsel in the region to obtain local advice.

**Basic Qualifications**:

- The ability to work in English, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality, along with excellent interpersonal skills, personal accountability and the ability to understand how business works and to provide pragmatic legal counselling.
- Minimum requirements of the position include all of the following: a) a degree in law (at least bachelor or equivalent); b) at least 3-5 or more years of post-qualification legal experience, ideally with experience in the fields of commercial and contract law, corporate law, and/or compliance; and c) be an attorney of good standing, called to the bar in at least one Commonwealth jurisdiction and legally permitted to practice law in Singapore.
- Experience with trade compliance, anticorruption and/or competition laws and regulators
- Experience supporting an international business
- Flexibility and eagerness to work on broad range of legal matters
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an absolute commitment to professionalism and collegiality
- Strong presentation skills and a calm, confident and practical, solutions-oriented approach
