The Workplace Design Manager will take ownership of constantly raising the bar on design of Amazon offices in RoA (Rest of Asia) region, and will ensure that the office design implemented on projects aligns with standards and creates excellent work spaces that meet the needs of the users.
This role will be based in Singapore, working with RoA (Rest of Asia) Design & Construction team and APAC Workplace Designer. There’s opportunity to subsequently work on projects in other regions (ANZ and Japan) as part of career progression.
Key Responsibilities
Establish strategy for overall space planning and design metrics.
Sync in with Global Workplace design guidelines and new initiatives.
Involvement in Global Signage Alignment.
Engagement with Business users and project core group.
Weekly PCG calls/engagement attendance.
Management of Design Consultants.
Ensure deliverables of design consultants are in accordance with the Project Brief.
Review tender drawings and all design related deliverables.
Review material selection, specifications and shop drawings
Review of Design change and RFI.
Adhoc assignments under the organization of PMO or Operations.
Development of space program using client’s space matrix mechanism and workplace guidelines.
Preparation of initial test fit plans during TDD stage.
Involvement in the inspection of project construction (from initial to post construction).
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 5 years design related experience, within MNC workplace environment and has delivered sizable projects in APAC.
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field.
Fluent in design tools (AutoCAD, Photoshop, Revit is a plus, etc)
General knowledge and understanding of statutory compliance requirements around design and setup of office layouts.
Strong knowledge on accessibility guidelines.
Results oriented, self-starter and proactive.
Proven planning and organization skills leading to the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Requires excellent written and oral communication.
Excellent presentation and problem-solving skills with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Must be able to travel across the entire region to engage with in-country project team.
Experience of other disciplines, i.e. project management, construction.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline oriented environment.
Team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
Experience in operating within process driven structure across a geographically and culturally widespread portfolio and remote team management.
Solution oriented and experienced in delivering best in class solution through triggering collaboration.
Strong analytical, root cause driven and continuous improvement skills.
Experience in identifying office user needs to be incorporated into the design.
Experience in leading cross functional process for validation and alignment of design.
Experience in working with variety of stakeholders including engineering, IT, branding, environment health & safety, corporate security and others.
Ability to manage strategic partners and establish relationships with key stakeholders.
